“Recently I was commissioned to work for Trovit who install cleanroom surfaces, in this case in a new hospital theatre suite in Crewe.”

“One objective of the shoot was to illustrate the almost seamless joints in wall and floor materials. As they are mostly white-on-white they are really hard to focus and frame correctly, so the loupe was invaluable today in ensuring the correct focus point and checking depth of field.”

“Because the optics is high quality Schneider Kreuznach glass, with a magnification of 3x, its very easy to identify tiny dirt and surface marks.  This means I’ll spend less time with the Photoshop clone tool later on.”

Cambo X2Pro – Images from the show

As promised here are a couple of images captured during The Photography Show at the NEC Birmingham, UK.

The Photography Show, NEC, Birmingham UK – Thank you for visiting us!

Thank you for visiting us at The Photography Show. We’re recovering from hoarse voices! As you may already know I do like to talk – and it was great opportunity to see so many of our existing customers and the chance to chat to some new one’s.

We ran some specials during the show and if you would like an overview of these please send me an email and I will post them directly. These are strictly for the UK and are limited between 2-4 weeks after the show.

There was a lot of interest in the new Wide RS600 camera, I expect this will be a hit with many customers that require an architectural camera with a built-in sliding back. It was another success for the Cambo Wide series cameras.

During the show Jonathan Taylor of Cloud9 launched his Cuba Car book and as you can see he produced some fantastic images – captured using the Cambo Wide RS5005 – we will add another blog soon about Jonathan’s work.

New Cambo Wide RS600 camera system at The Photography Show, NEC, UK

Cambo Fotografische BV introduces the Wide RS600 camera at The Photography Show, NEC, Birmingham 4th March 2014.

The Wides RS600 is designed for architectural and landscape photographers that wish to use a digital back without removing and exchanging it with the focussing screen, enabling the photographer to compose, focus, slide the digital back in place and shoot immediately.

Manufactured from high grade aerospace aluminium, the camera platform is one piece unit which prevents any distortion as the camera plane is parallel and only the back is designed to shift, rise and fall. Horizontal shift 40mm, Vertical shift 60mm, Rise 40mm and Fall 20mm.

The variable locking mechanism is used to stitch images from all digital back sensors in the horizontal or vertical position.

The lenses from the Wide DS and Wide RS range of cameras are compatible with the RS600. For Tilt and Swing functionality, this is achieved by using the Cambo digital lenses with Schneider and Rodenstock optics. The T/S range have 5 degrees of Tilt and Swing.

The RS600 accepts the Cambo SLW digital camera back adapter plates for Leaf, Phase One and Hasselblad.

The CS loupe with Schneider optics is the ideal focussing aid when using a digital back without live view. The loupe kit attaches to the focussing screen, it can be positioned in each corner to check movement and sharpness. The kit is available for the RS600 and the Wide Camera range.

New Cambo X2Pro for Sony Alpha Cameras

Today, 20th February 2014, Cambo Fotografische BV introduces the X2Pro for Sony Alpha E mount cameras.

The X2Pro is already designed to accept Canon, Nikon, Phase One, Mamiya AFD camera systems. This camera platform enables photographers to adjust the lens by tilt/swing also rise/fall as you would when using a technical camera.

Sony’s Alpha 7/7R uses mirrorless technology which will have an advantage when capturing as there is no longer any mirror bounce to be concerned with. This is especially important when shooting macro.

Existing X2Pro users can change camera systems easily by ordering the Sony bellows and camera mounting block from Cambo.

Cambo meets Gadgetman!

It’s not often you bump into the Gadgetman; John Bentley. Well if the truth be known I asked “Hi John what do you think of the new Cambo follow focus?” JB1

John presents the latest products, innovations and gadgets available in the market today and has a huge knowlege of digital photography, video and all things gadgety! He enthuses when reviewing the latest technology and in my opinion is the main man on Channel 5‘s The Gadget Show.

He replied “Oooh, very nice. Its smooth and there is no play in the mechanism” he continued “what a well engineered product, so how much is it?” Not wanting to disappoint John, more like shocking him “It sells for £672.00”… a delay…an intake of breath.. “Wow that’s cheap and it has 2 adjustable stops!”

Yes, the Cambo MFC-2 follow focus is beautifully crafted and was a huge hit when launched last year. Fitted with a “Swing” single rail fixing its compact and solid in every position.

But I hear you say “I don’t have those fantastic grippy Cambo rails?” Don’t despair as we have a Dual Rail Version MFC-22 for all those users wishing to upgrade. There is also a Single grip 19mm rail version MFC-9.
