Cambo introduce the ‘new’ RS6000 camera system at Photokina 2012

The RS6000 is designed for architectural and landscape photographers that wish to use a digital back without removing and exchanging it with the focussing screen, enabling the photographer to compose, focus, slide the digital back in place and shoot immediately.

Manufactured from high grade aerospace aluminium, the camera platform is one piece unit which prevents any distortion as the camera plane is parallel and only the back is designed to shift, rise and fall.

The RS6000 has 30mm rise and 20mm fall.

The variable locking mechanism is used to stitch images from all digital back sensors in the horizontal or vertical position.

The lenses from the Wide DS and Wide RS range of cameras are compatible with the RS6000. For Tilt and Swing functionality, this is achieved by using the Cambo digital lenses with Schneider and Rodenstock optics. The T/S range have 5 degrees of Tilt and Swing.

The RS6000 accepts the Cambo SLW digital camera back adapter plates for Leaf, Phase One and Hasselblad.

The CS loupe with Schneider optics is the ideal focussing aid when using a digital back without live view. The loupe kit attaches to the focussing screen, it can be positioned in each corner to check movement and sharpness. The kit is available for the RS6000 and the Wide Camera range.

The top plate accepts a wide range of accessories such as, the WRS-1090 Compendium, iPhone holder and Hotshoe.

The RS6000 delivery date is TBC.

Cambo HDSLR and HDV Camera Support

Regular readers will recognise the CS-Eris in this video. We thought it would be good to show how the rig is put together, the modular design, accessories and the flexibility of the shoulder support.

As you can see we are using the new Nikon D4 HDSLR to show the flexibility of Cambo’s rigs being suited to the latest camera models. Of course when you adjust the height of the camera mount you are able to use a wide of cameras such as the Nikon D7000, D800, Canon 60D, 650D, 5DMkII, 5DMkIII – there are more models we could have listed, email us to confirm the camera you would like to use.

So, we have the HDSLR range covered, what about HDV? – we have that covered too… Kits are available now for the Sony F3K/F3L, Sony PMW-EX1 and Panasonic AF101.

Converting a HDSLR rig to an ‘in-line’ version for DV is achieved by adding longer rods. The same accessories such as the shoulder pad and follow focus can be used.

For those eagerly awaiting the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Cambo rigs are compatible and available now. The starting price of the CS-Cilix grips with adjustable camera mount is £399.00+vat / €469.00+tax.

Click here to read the article.

Just a note about lenses; Our lens scale is set correctly, the infinity will have been set around 5m to enable more depth of field which is why the images are extremely sharp.

We have the Cambo Wide RS – designed for digital – in Cambo UK, Manchester. You are welcome to try out the kit with your DCB or Leaf Aptus-II Digital Camera Backs.

Cambo Open Day Success!

The Open day was a great success. Thanks to Mamiya Leaf & Profoto for supporting us and bringing the latest kit for us to show.

Our aim for the day was to open the UK office and introduce photographers & videographers to the full range of Cambo products. It was a relaxed day and there was the opportunity to handle the camera equipment.

We used the Cambo Wide RS for the architectural shoot and showed the live focus function on the Leaf Credo 80, supported by the Cambo WRS-1060 iPhone Viewer, iPad, iMac and iPhone! There are so many supported viewing options available now.

For the fashion shoot we used the Leaf Credo 80, Mamiya DF & LS lenses. The ProFoto Parabolic Reflector 180 with Air packs provided lighting on the model which was controlled via the Leaf Air Grip… fabulous combination to work with.

Then we setup the Cambo X2Pro with Nikon D800 to add movement to the image and push the focus on the models eyes… you have to use the X2Pro camera to appreciate it!

We were especially pleased to hear the following comments;

“The Wide RS has tilt and swing on the lenses, for me to do this on an Alpa I would have to buy 2 lenses!”

“The Live focus works a dream, I’m definitely going to invest in the Leaf Credo 80…”

“Thanks for your invitation, we have many talented people in the region which is something to encourage, celebrate and support…”

“The video track and pedestal is really good, we need to buy this kit for our production house”

Don’t forget to subscribe to the blog and you’ll receive information/dates about our next events.
